Two is all it deserves. Overcooked, uninspired food. Over Fried, under fished. LONNNNNG wait for food. Long even by southern standards. Small portions. Low quality control, we are still waiting for cole slaw, oh wait, that was 2 days and 800 miles ago. Find somewhere else, there is lots of good food in North Charleston.

Came here for dinner last night, picked up seafood au gratin. Seafood, in heavy cream and cheese sounds super delicious to me!!! My dinner came with hush puppies, Cole slaw and collard greens for $22. The treat was sitting at the bar and indulging in $3 glasses of wine, I HAD 2 AND Came home. The atmosphere was nice and clean, welcoming and receptive. The patrons were friendly. NICE JOB! Kudos!!!!

I really enjoyed my experience and the food at this restaurant. We had our family reunion and stayed near this restaurant and the hotel staff suggested we give it a try, plus gave us a coupon for appetizers. When we got there we were greeted promptly and the lady saw there were eleven in our party. Not a problem, though and we were all seated at the same table. The staff was very accommodating, but did charge a 15% gratuity. I ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizers and shared it. They were served over cheesy grits with a red pepper relish. They were out of this world! For my entree I had the fried oysters and they were very good. I took my desert home and I chose the coconut layer cake. I have never had coconut cake that good in my life. It was moist and just delicious. The icing was that seven minute frosting with fresh coconut. I tried to get back just for the cake, but didn't. I'll make this place my first stop if I ever get back to a Charleston, SC.

Wow! What a total piece of crap! We had eaten here a few months earlier and it was decent, probably a 3 star rating. This time was waaaaaay different. It took way to long to sit, when we were told they were just waiting on menus. Waiting on menus???? Did they have a menu heist earlier? We finally get seated at the empty table we stared at for 40 minutes. We get our order in an it take another 30 minutes to get the food. The order was wrong, so the waitress came back 3 more times to correct it. When we were done, we waited another 10-15 for the check, then the check was wrong. My wife pulled the manager aside (her review will be coming up soon) and told him of the horrible service we got and how it took so long for everything to come. He said, "ok" then took off the price of my drink. Geeeeee, thanks mister! Trust me, the Noisy Oyster ain't hurtin' for cash, so they could have easily written this off. Notice the manager didn't say sorry or anything else. I've worked in several dining establishments, from a coffee house to a dinner cruise, and service like this wouldn't be tolerated from the higher ups. Being they are a local chain, I wish I could have given them a better review, but this place isn't worth the money you pay. Better off going to Carolina Bay Seafood on Dorchester Rd or even Capt. D's.

Music was awesome, service was not the greatest and the food was very greasy. It made us nauseated afterwards. Will not be going here again.

It's a sad state of affairs when you leave out of a restaurant as hungry as when you arrived. It's worse to see another table being served by a server different than your own providing faster and better service. Tables that ordered after my table got their food faster. I ordered Baked Chicken Neptune that tasted like a salt lick. My friend ordered the she crab soup that came out cold. The server knew it was cold but brought it anyway. When my friend asked for hotter soup, it seems they brought back the same bowl of soup except they added hot water to it as the soup was noticeably thinner. The last person at the table also got cold food. The manager and the server offered to remake the dishes, but after having been there for 1.5 hours, it was just time to go. Never again.
(1)Hannah D.
The food wasn't bad at all, but it was the service I had a real hard time getting past--we just weren't waited on at all, and near the end it seemed like the waitress just didn't want to be there at all. We would have to ask another waiter to pay the check.
(2)Yolanda M.
While its not the best seafood Ive ever had, Im glad I did just run away because of previous reviews. The wait staff was fast and friendly. They answered all of my questions as needed and didnt huff and puff about it. My bf had the seafood platter. How can u go wrong with fried seafood. I cant remember the name of what I had but was something with crab stuffing and shrimp. The service was better than the food but I still enjoyed it all the same.

Having seen the neon sign for the Noisy Oyster on many a night, I decided to give the restaurant a try. The first thing I noticed, unfortunately, is a sort of damp smell. It wasn't a stench but it was definitely enough to be off putting. To start the night I had their peel and eat shrimp. To my disappointment I was served a full oyster plate with ice and all of seven shrimp. For the price of 8.99, it was a Hugh letdown. My main dish, the broiled seafood platter, was slightly better but still rather uninspiring. Understandably, the dish was broiled and wouldn't have the crispness of a fried platter, but the term "limp" shouldn't come to mind when I see fish. Very few positive moments come to mind with my visit. I appreciated the military discount, and the decor was a nice standard seafood place, but the food left me feeling regretful. Overall, there wasn't any mistakes or gaffes. That's what makes my trip the most disappointing: that everything ran smoothly and still added up to a subpar experience. I would not visit again, without good reason.
(2)Jolie G.
Staff was the best part of my visit, I was visiting the area and wanted some seafood, the name lent itself to being just what I was wanting - Oysters. I ordered the dozen oysters w/peel n eat shrimp and teriyaki soaked tuna Unfortunately the food was not fresh, the presentation was not appealing, and the taste was not good (I'll will spare all the details) . The best part of my visit was the clever signage around the bar - they were witty and funny enough for me to post to my FB page. Definitly not enough for me to go there again :(

Well I should have taken the time to read other reviews. Long John Silvers is an upgrade to this place. Best thing on the menu was the cole slaw, fresh seafood NAH. If you are looking for a waitress that smells like an ashtray and awful food this is your spot! Sorry to be so negative but really felt like I cheated myself, with so many great options in a beautiful part of the country. They just don't get it
(1)Brandon B.
Interior looks nice yet smells of wet rag. Host was unprofessional with a "sup fellas" to my wife and I. Server was quiet and impatient and knew nothing of the menu or pricing. Menu was difficult to read and the pricing was unorganized (1 crab cake $9.99 but crab cakes and fried green tomatoes were $10.99) Pricing was horrible. "Market price" was market with $5+ markup. Oysters Rockefeller was excellent and the fried green tomatoes/ crab cakes weren't bad. Not very fried outside and a bit mushy inside. Tomatoes cooked well. Food was not bad at all. Atmosphere and service degrade the score. Expensive as hell for what you really get. 2.5/5 stars.
(3)Zeza V.
Unfortunately it was one of my worst dinning experiences. The seafood plates were awful. I would change their name to LOUSY OYSTER.
(1)Bonnie W.
The food was delicious. It took forever to get our food.
(3)Ashley C.
It was typical chain style seafood. Nothing super unique or fresh. But if you are looking for some good fried shrimp or fried fish sandwich is good and a decent price.
(4)Anthony E.
While this might be a good place to eat don't come without your entire party or they will NOT seat you. It doesn't matter if you want drinks or a meal. They will not seat your party until all arrive. We had 5 of 13 and we just had to wait. Not a good start to an otherwise fun night out. We were told it was company policy.

The Noisy Oyster has a strategic location right near the market place which is often packed with people. Our friends who live in SC have their drill down pat. Ladies go shopping and the men make a b line for this place to enjoy some drinks. The windows all opened, there was tons of wood and kind of reminded me of a college bar. Which is really ok. After a very quick walk thru the market place (what's happened here? Classy stuff has turned into junk and there are too many stalls with duplicate items). Anyway, we settled in on some stools at the bar and ordered some drinks. It wasn't long until the entertainment began. Our bartender, besides serving our drinks, was busy spearing an entire salad on a stick to be used for future bloody Mary's. At first we were just laughing at the size of the whole thing, and then we noticed, that this gal handled everything and I mean everything from limes, lemons, peppers celery and every garnish you can imagine with naked hands. She would then take people's tabs, money, credit cards, orders on the touch screen and go back to touching everything that a customer would consume in his/her cocktail. She made no effort to hide it, and frankly I don't think we did a good job at disguising our incredulous faces while all this took place. So much more happened, but when she put her non gloved hand in a gigantic jar of peperoncini after just handling some bills, we asked for our check. Everything we ordered came from a bottle or we would have walked out a long time ago. Even so, we both came home with bad head colds. Was Noisy Oyster the culprit? Who knows, but we saw enough that we would never step foot into that place again.

This was one of my favorite restaurants. I don't think I will ever be back. Obviously the owners no longer care about this place and the managers have let it go. It is filthy!!!! The beer taps are dirty and stink. The fruit flies are ever present at the waitress station hovering the cherries and lemons that go into drinks. After visiting the dirty ladies room I made my decision. They no longer care so I never will be back.
(1)Joe O.
Where to start?... Alright so the only good thing was the attractive hostess when I walked in. After that it was downhill. It took ten minutes to get my beer. The dumbass spilled it all over the place. Finally got the beer another 5 minutes later. The Guinness was warm and disgusting. One of the people I was with had a raw steak. Was supposed to be medium. They brought him the "same" steak (not a new one) back after cooking it for maybe two minutes. Shit was disgusting. The manager was feeling up an employee. The waiter was on meth or something. Couldn't remember simple things. The place wasn't even close to being packed. The whole restaurant smelled like ass. The place was just dirty as f$&@ and unpleasant. Don't ever go in there to even take a $h&@. They don't even deserve a star. STAY AWAY from this death camp!!!
(1)Rich S.
"Meh" is about right for this place. It may be locally owned, but the bland food reminded me of a lower end full service chain such as Shoneys or Friendlys. I had the Mahi Mahi taco, which was OK, just didn't taste fresh. The side of "savory grits" was not exciting- just grits and butter. My friend had a chicken sandwich with fries, which in my opinion was pretty pitiful looking considering that it was $13. It was our server's first night and she was very polie and friendly. I also thought the atmosphere was fun with an open nautical theme. The bar looks like it could be a fun place for HH.

We came here on one of the first nights in town, having moved from Indianapolis to Charleston. We wanted seafood and we didn't care how. I was on a mission to try she-crab soup, so I ordered it before my beer. For dinner, we had bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp, seafood scallop and a seafood boil. It was super tasty- being a "Joe's Crabshack-esque" chain didn't detract from good seafood. It was good for a newbie to town, but I'd circle around the more unique eateries before coming back.
(3)David C.
Haven't been in a long time and thought we'd give it a shot. The food was not bad but it was certainly overpriced. A Seafood platter for 25+ was really a Seafood plate. A few scallops, 3 very small oysters, fried shrimp, a crab/shrimp cake and a soggy piece of flounder. My collards were 25% tough stems. It was fairly empty and our server was quick to start but apparently had other things to do as it took 15 mins for a check to appear. They are other seafood restaurants with similar quality for less $$.
(2)Debra M.
My family and I visited on 7/8/2015 and I had the Shirmp and Grits and they were GREAT!! I did not have to add any additional seasonings. However, my Long Island Ice Tea lacked flavor and liquor. My husband really enjoyed his seafood platter and he had the rice as a side stating, it was ok. My daughter got the crabs leg dinner @ market price for $27.99 w/one side of fryes and she loved it. Plus, the crabs legs were huge in comparsion to Red Lobster..Also, our waitress Amilia was fantastic. Yet, the resturant could use more lighting and a few updates...Still, I would come make because we really enjoyed our food.
(4)Brad S.
While the shrimp plate had sufficient portions of adeequately prepared lightly breaded shrimp, seasoned fries, and edible Cole slaw, the overall experience was less than desirable. Had I wished to sweat profusely during my dinner, I would have opted to sit outdoors. I'm sure there would at least be a breeze out there. I used my napkin to wipe my forehead more than my mouth!! The service was great, but it was just too damn hot! I won't be back until the fall, for sure! Oh, and I greatly dislike being called 'boss' by wait staff anywhere!! Someone tell John to stop doing that. I would prefer anything else...literally!
(3)Mike S.
It was OK. The food was good, but it didn't bowl me over. I ordered a beer from the menu, and was told they no longer have it, but didn't have new menus yet. The menu also said all entrees came with a side, but after ordering, the waiter came back and said the shrimp and grits didn't

It's troubling to me how many one and two star reviews consistently roll in yet they persist on not changing a thing. They're located on the most heavily trafficked corner of Charleston and presumably the only reason they're still seating tables. Right when you walk in you'll notice that dirty bar rag smell. It's all open air yet still maintains a light funk. If it was simply the below average seafood, they would probably still be a pretty big hit from all the tourist business but, there's more. The staff is often unpleasant and the service is slow. The menu is unoriginal and outdated as well. This place dates back to the days of when big chain restaurants were actually a thing that restaurants emulated. I think it's time for an update, an overhaul, or maybe just hit the reset button.
(1)Elizabeth H.
Let me start with saying I used to love this place. We would bring out of town guests here. We would eat here frequently. I don't know what has changed but it is night and day. First, our waitress was horrid. Unorganized, did not keep drinks filled, would forget we asked repeatedly for water, etc. we were dining with our friends, so four adults and two children age 3 and 4. The food was blah. Our surprise came when the waitress had the audacity to add a 20% tip because we were a party of six, after horrible service and two of our six are small children! Oh and she ran our credit cards and THEN told us she did that. Seriously?! I called a week later to talk to a manager and ask if this was their policy. I was told he was busy and to call back. What?! Oh and the hostess I spoke with was rude. I went on their website and detailed this account. Nothing. I have heard nothing. These guys are local, I want to support them, but just can't. I don't know what changed but the owners need to take a hard look at this location. I can't recommend anyone eat here anymore.

The noisy oyster was the worst non dining experience we have ever had. We were there on Saturday night feb 11 2012. After being told multiple times a table would be available in 15 minutes we finally got a table after a 40 plus minute wait. We were seated at an un-bussed table. 5+ minutes later a waiter came to our table we ordered a bottle of wine after which he disappeared. We went to the hostess and asked to speak to a manager and yet another no show so we left.

I have been to The Noisy Oyster Seafood Restaurant twice... The first time was about a year ago in 2013. I recently decided to visit the Noisy Oyster again for dinner. I ordered the shrimp and scallops pasta in alfredo sauce. The meal cost $16.99. You get a decent size bowl of pasta with alfredo sauce and with that about 8 to 10 shrimp and about 6 to 8 scallops.... The "meal" also comes with a single piece of garlic bread. I think that they should change the name of this restaurant to "The Overpriced Oyster". The food is just "ok", not bad, but not great either. I don't have a problem paying $16.99 for good quality food but in this case the food is average at best. I would have been just as satisfied if I had gone to Cracker Barrel and spent $8. The food at Cracker Barrel is better than this place. Charging $16.99 for what amounts to 60% or more of pasta is a crime. If the food was exceptional perhaps this price could be justified, sadly, that is not the case. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place even if you have the $$ to spend on an overpriced mediocre meal. There are literally dozens of far better dining choices in the North Charleston area so be sure to read the reviews and you will be glad that you did. I won't be returning to this place again...

Went in on a Sunday right before noon and they were completely unprepared to have customers. It took a few mins for anyone to come seat us and then when our drinks came the glasses were filthy. Not just slightly dirty but food crusted all over them. After seeing a few more people come in after us and not even get seated for over 5 mins when the place was completely empty we decided to just leave. We went back to the kitchen area to cancel our order and try to pay for our sodas even though we couldn't drink them out of those glasses and what did we find? The kitchen staff was eating their breakfast on the line. They hadn't even started making our order which was put in almost 10 mins before. At that point I didn't feel bad at all walking out. When we got to our car we saw the other couple who had been waiting to be seated walk out as well. How can a restaurant that opens at 11, not be prepared for customers well after 11 especially on a Sunday when they know the Church crowd rush will be upon them any minute? And how can you pass off dirty items to your customers, who runs this place?
(1)Brian D.
I took my family here and I ordered the $25.99 seafood platter. Normally when I order a seafood platter at restaurants, I have a hard time finishing it. The Crab Shack off of Dorchester is excellent! The $25.99 seafood platter here was such an unbelievably small portion. I was still hungry afterwards. The flounder didn't have much of a taste and a few of the clams were burnt. I was very disappointed that I spent that much money for what I received. I will never be coming back here again.
(2)Frank R.
First time dining--we enjoyed the crab dip appetizer; the shrimp and grits entree was very tasty, especially with the jumbalaya sausage and gravy. The Caesar salad was excellent as well. The she-crab soup wasn't at all what we expected-having a lemony, herbal taste, and we didn't care for that. Service was very good. The meals were quite pricy in my opinion.
(3)Scott L.
3 for the food 5 on the service @ the bar. Josh introduced himself, gave me recommendations, called me "sir" and sent me home with a bottle of hot sauce when I said that I liked it. Food was good...but the service was better.
(4)Jeffrey S.
Had to be the worst service I have ever had. Felt rushed to order. Once I ordered I watched my beer sit and wait to come to my table. I waited all the way until my check was delivered and I had to explain I had not received my beer to which the waitress seemed to have doubts it never arrived. I assure you It never arrived. At this point with the waitress having asked how we were once since we ordered and again to simply say "want any dessert?" I didn't want dessert just wanted to leave but I felt maybe I would have wanted dessert had I ever gotten my beer. My wife complained but was greeted by a manager who seemed to not trust that we had not been taken care of properly to the point he completely defended the waitress and only offered a gift card. A gift card I doubt ill ever use.

I am a local. I thought I would try this restaurant one last time. I am a hopeless liberal, what can I say, Well, BIG MISTAKE. The food was awful, overpriced and not fresh. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT EAT HERE. Many locals are ashamed of this restaurant. Stay awat
(1)Kelly H.
Poor management and thieves, that sums up our thoughts. We waited at the bar while awaiting a 45 minute wait time for a table, which didn't upset our group of four in any way. But it didn't make sense, as there were several open tables and booths, noted by many people awaiting tables. Again, no biggie. But when charged $2 sales tax on a $6.99 drink (equating to over 28%) we decided to question that. The bartender said she wasn't sure of SC liquor tax rate, which I call BS. When we pointed out it calculated out to over 28% tax, she came back after talking with management (who BTW didn't speak with us) and had no better explanation. It was clear that the bar was taking advantage by over charging customers and blaming it on the liquor tax, because the next drink ordered by another I our party was charged 15.5% sales tax on the same priced drink. We promptly left and ate elsewhere. The state of South Carolina should audit their sales receipts, because The Noisy Oyster is run by thieves and is a poor representation of southern hospitality!!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a great seafood since visiting Charleston. We found it easy to get seated and atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed sitting by the window overlooking the market and side street. To start our dinner we were disappointed in the beer choices but we're able to find one beer. We did order for an appetizer calamari with a side of pepper jelly. The calamari was ok but the jelly was very thick and difficult to dip the calamari into to coat. We ordered the pick your seafood plate. I choose grilled shrimp and baked crab cakes with mashed potatoes. My boyfriend ordered grilled tilapia with the grilled shrimp with collard greens. Soon after placing our orders, we were able to preview the meals being delivered to the table near us. We were taken back by how poor the presentation of the food being delivered. Those that received those meals being delivered to the table, their faces displayed a show of concern. They too were concerned and ate carefully. Fast forward to our meal. The shrimp was delicious!! The crab cakes were like eating a sponge. Was there crab even in those patties? The mashed potatoes were flat and runny and strange tasting. The talapia had a fishy taste and my boyfriend proceeded to a hell no. We chose to leaved for a better meal. The manager and waitress both were fine with adjusting the bill. I think they two were use to the reaction and rejection of the food from this restaurant. So disappointed!!!
(1)Manda T.
This is a terrible place to eat and not because of the food because of the service.the waitor did not even introduce herself she immediately came to thr table and asked what would you like to drink? I asked her about thr portion size and she lied about the amount of food that I would get and didnt even come back to address it she just put my order in without asking me if I wanted to change my order. When thr food came out she didnt even address the fact the misinformation was relayed I had to bring it up to her and her reponse was very vague like she didnt care. The manager acted like he didn't care about the terrible service we were receiving AT ALL. food was not bad but the portion is small and the terrible service that I got made me forget that the food was okay. JUST OKAY. save yourself the trouble and irritation and GO TO HYMANS. If I go give them no stars I would
(1)Jim B.
Service was awful. We were seated and nobody came to check on us for over 20 minutes. We finally just got up and left. Manager and numerous wait staff just walked right by. Not visiting again
(1)Lisa R.
One of the worst places I have ever eaten. The Cat fish stew did not have one single piece of cat fish. Nothing but rice and tomatoes. The shrimp boil was way over cooked and the server was apathetic at best. I would never recommend this place. Red Lobster is better and that place is mediocre.
(1)Abie L.
Been here twice. I paid $13 for a mudslide. I'm from California and I know what fresh delish seafood taste like. This is not one of the places I would recommend. The food is bland. Service is ok. It's like u walk in and these waiters and waitress expect u to give them a tip just for walking in. Last I knew tips were for exceptional service. To tip base on the quality of service you have given me during my meal not just because I walked in the door.
(1)N F.
If I could have selected zero stars I would! I agree with another reviewers comments of: I should have read the reviews first; Long John Silvers menu and food are better; I feel cheated having selected a very, very poor seafood restaurant in this area of terrific seafood. The food was very bad -- too greasy, too heavy, too bad tasting, too over cooked. The service was poor, despite the very friendly staff, we waited at least an hour to get our food served with no one else in the restaurant to wait on. Don't get tricked in to going to the place because of the 'cutesy' brochure and the $5 off coupon (which they failed to apply to the bill!)! It is not worth it.
(1)Hank W.
Arrived about 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly greeted by our waiter. Our order landed in the midst of a shift change and was taking longer than normal. Our waiter brought us a complimentary crab dip appetizer to tide us over the longer meal prep time. My wife had the Che crab soup and Caesar salad and she enjoyed both. I had the shrimp and grits which are always really good. This has definitely become a great alternative for when we don't want to go all the way downtown.
(4)Cliff O.
Service was great and friendly. Food excellent stream pot out of this world good. Whole flounder baked greek style
(4)Jenn V.
This place was nothing special and quite frankly overpriced for what they are offering. We started with the appetizer "world's best crab dip". It wasn't good, watery and too strong on the horseradish, plus they served it with pre-packaged tiny crackers.I ordered the special, haddock crusted with Italian breadcrumbs, it was good, but not spectacular and my boyfriend got the Alaskan Crab and hardly got 3 legs, let alone a pound and a half. I wouldn't go back there, I only gave it 2 stars because my fish was decent.
(2)James H.
I orded $40 alaskan crab legs and it was cold and they gave me 2 to small crablegs also i was served very little fries
(1)Kim A.
What a rip off!!! I came to Charleston on vacation and I've been wanting to try the Noisy Oyster since the last time I came to visit. The waitress was nice but treated us like we were broke because we asked her how big the platter size was. I decided to get the Seafood Combo ($16) with oysters and shrimp. When it came out I was looking for a little more for the buck and for the platter to at least look reasonable. I mean it had 6 shrimp that clearly looked as though it was heated from a cocktail platter, 6 small oysters, a little lettuce that was folded up for a small rabbit, and two small hush puppies. I understand that the oysters may have driven the price up, but come on! At least make the dish look good to try to trick me and make me feel like I actually spent my money worthily.
(1)Jason R.
Really liked the shrimp and grits, calamari, and they have a huge pot of seafood that has something for everyone
(4)Jessica A.
I seriously had to calm down before I finished this review! Was told it would be a few mins. To sit down, they were just waiting on menus. AFter 40mins, my husband and I were sat at a table that we stared at empty the entire time. Took a while to get our server. We ordered and in the meantime, our 5 month old daughter was pretty fussy and tired. Our food arrived 35 mins. later but was wrong. The server had to go back 3 times to get it right. Now remember I had to flag down the waitress to come to our table. Service was VERY slow!!! While waiting more to get the waitress to come get the card for the bill, I finally managed to talk to a manager. My fish was a market price item in which the waitress said it was $20.99 but it was rang up at $23.99. Yeah only $3 but at this point, I am not a happy camper with the service. The manager did not seem interested it fixing the issue. NEVER once was a sorry, let me fix this etc. even mumbled. He did take off my hasband's drink for our inconvience. Thanks buddy, you saved us $4 off our too expensive meal. I will NEVER be back to the Noisy Oyster ... save your time and your many bucks. Captain D's will give you a better dinner at a much better price.
(1)david s.
Dont eat here save your money!! Just wanted some good seafood, but got horrible service from the server to the manager. my food was ok but everyone elses was awfull the appetisers took 20 minuites to show up then another 20 before the waitress came back to take our orders. when the food showed up they only brought some of it and said they were waiting on fries, are you kidding me the fries showed up for a 4 year old who only wanted fries after we were almost done eating. when my sister complained the manager offered a gift card she said it was so bad she didnt want to come back he said a gift card or nothing. By the way 2 people ate for $64 before tip.
(1)Ian S.
Really just disappointing. The food is not very good, the staff is just ok, the beer was stale, the bar area tables are small. Not too appealing, and really expensive. $100 for three! I'll pay that for good food, but not Chili's on the water!
(1)Ks K.
Kilbasa sausage in the shrimp & grits. Way too much sausage & floury grave. Shrimp were ok. Inexperienced waitstaff, but the manager & a wiser server helped out. Pass. We were just hungry & tired & didn't want to drive 30 minutes to downtown Charleston. We should've gone to bed without supper rather than this place.

Hoooly cow, where to begin? Ok... we'll do food first. The lesser of two evils. Food: I got the key west stuffed grouper. Two friends got salads, one got the seafood platter, one got crab legs. There were a total of 11 people there, but we'll stick to these ones for now. My grouper was not good. The crab stuffing was. Another friend got the grouper sandwich and said it was so-so as well. The seafood platter is all fried!! Maybe we missed it, but I do not think it says anything about every single item being fried on the menu. It makes it sound like a fresh platter. So that was a huge disappointment for my friend who actually got sick from eating it. Service: Here we go. It's funny, because when we first all sat down we liked our waiter. He was nice and told us a story about how the last group of this size he helped was rude and did not tip well at all. We all laughed with him and joked about how rude they must have been. Then we ate dinner. He messed up SEVERAL times. The two people who got salads? He completely messed them up. They both ordered the same salad, and neither one actually got the salad they ordered. They were two completely different salads neither of which was the original one they wanted. The friend who got crab legs never got anything to crack the legs with. She had to ask twice, and it took a long time. We all felt bad and tried to wait to eat our food until he returned, but he just left us outside on the patio so long the rest of our food was getting cold, so we started without her. Slowly it was becoming clear to us why the last party he served did not tip well... he never once apologized for his errors. If he couldn't handle a table of that size he should not wait on us, or at least get two servers out there. I wish we had at least gone to the one on market st, even if it would have been busier, at least we'd be in a cool location while receiving bad service.

One of my favs for seafood. Good value. I generally get the fried seafood platter because it is lightly battered fresh fish, shrimp, oysters and a crab cake (hold the oysters). Hush puppies and cole slaw complete the affair. I love the vibe at the bar as well...that is except for the smokers.

The "World famous crab dip" tasted like mayo, the broccoli that came with my blackened flounder was raw, and there was way too much seasoning on my fish. My dining partners oysters weren't shucked very well, and the dressing on his caesar salad tasted like mayo. The only redeeming thing was our waitress was super nice, if a bit slow.

Omg, I love Charleston, South Carolina, love my Hotel room in North Charleston. Had a wonderful vacation with the parents, woke up from a nap after a long day at the beach. We heard about a seafood Buffet but we didn't want to drive another 25 minutes. Our hotel concierge gave us a coupon to this place, so my family and I all 11 of us went here. Worst mistake of our lives. We spent over $300.00 for the worst food ever. On top of that the service was horrible. Waitress forgets to bring us cole slaw and on top of that she drops one on the floor. The food is just GREASY AND SALTY, so nasty. I would have loved to have gone to JOE'S CRAB SHACK, instead of this wanna be hole in the wall. You think I'm being mean, you think I'm being harsh? I DARE YOU TO TRY THIS PLACE, the manager walks around, but she doesn't even do anything. She says how's everything to a table next to us, but doesn't even bother to ask us how we are doing, probably because she knew I would give her an ear fill. Regardless, I am back in the comfy hotel and I am updating this review. I should have taken the time to read the reviews before going, but I was still drowsy after the nap.

This restaurant is one of the most well decorated in town its got plenty of artifacts and the colors inside are beautiful. They have a large selection of t-shirts and hats for tourists to purchase from the hostess and they're quite lovely for adults or kids alike. They take reservations for parties of 6 or more and call-ahead seating for smaller groups and be sure you make the appropriate calls in order to be seated faster whether lunch or dinner. The happy hour is daily from 4pm to 8pm and it applies to several apps and house liquors and some beers. Once the bar is full of patrons make reservations with the hostess to be seated there or else you may never get a table. They have a good lot of regulars who oft stay there all night long. Try to get there around 4:30 for a good spot. For men there's plenty of TVs to watch the game on and they're good about allowing you to switch their channels. Additionally they have wonderful specialty drink menus I reccomend the Island Colada. If you're going to be dining for the evening try their hot shrimp, crab, and parmigan dip. Its baked in a casserole and served with tortilla chips and is the most popular item for apps. As an entree be daring and hungry and try the steam pot... its about 25 dollars but comes wtih lobster, crab, oysters, mussels, shrimp, potatoes, and corn in a saffron broth and it is to die from. Two people can easily share it. For dessert their choices often vary but if available try their raspberry chocolate truffle cheesecake or if that's not available the key lime pie is the best in the world. They have fresh local seafood and locally prepared desserts and you can't go wrong when you go here. Additionally every Wednesday they have a $9.99 special of some kind from 4pm to close and is worth a try.

First of all, do not go there for a party. we went there and the waiter received an gratuity automatically. Now i waited tables before, so i appreciate tips, but he was a crappy waiter because he knew he was going to receive 17 % from everyone order! i ordered ribs, which were just under warm. the ribs came as if the got them and freshly dipped them in a bucket of BBQ sauce. the BBQ sauce was way too tangy! the only good thing was the ribs were tender. the soda i received was flat. i asked for a lemonade because the diet coke fountain machine was serving flat drinks. he had to check with the manager first. What if the manger said no? i would have to had flat drinks for the rest of the night! $3 for a drink. $16 for ribs $9 for ma-hi ma hi sandwich was extremely greasy it was literally soaked in grease with sandwich bun falling apart as my wife ate it. Other than that she said it was extremely tasty and she loved the taste. I think the waiter ruined it. he was rude because he argued and talked condescending about certain items and deals on the menu. if you go as a party and your waiter is a tall guy named Jason, walk out or ask for another waiter. he knows he will lock in 17% of your tip and be a smart @$$, argue about items on the menu and give crappy service.
